Project description
The project involved the conversion of the former Bon Secours hospital, with a total surface area of 55,000 m², into a structured residential complex. This operation transformed an unoccupied site into a mixed-use neighbourhood, close to Metz city centre, the railway station, the lake and the Centre Pompidou.
Organised around four main residences, the project was developed in partnership with several local stakeholders, with a target of 350 housing units on site. Particular attention was paid to urban integration, preservation of the existing environment and the creation of a complete residential environment.
The diagonal green space, a central landscaped axis, has enabled the site to be better integrated into the neighbourhood, facilitating its appropriation by residents. The programme has promoted diversity among the residents: young professionals, low-income households, seniors, and first-time buyers.
